Tosoh's operations in Singapore started out on October, 4, 1997 as Tosoh Fine Chemicals Pte. Ltd., functioning as a regional sales office for products from Tosoh's Organic Chemicals Division, mainly
ethyleneamines and their derivatives. (

Later it merged with Tosoh SMD Singapore Pte. Ltd. to become Tosoh Singapore Pte. Ltd. in June, 1, 2002, adding on to its existing portfolio of
electronic materials related products.
As of January 2, 2008, Tosoh Singapore Pte. Ltd. officially changed its name to Tosoh Asia Pte. Ltd. to reflect Tosoh's rapidly expanding business in Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Middle East.
